WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM FOR SILT POLLUTION

Clearflow gravity-based carbon free surface water treatment system is capable of operating effectively, and with minimal supervision.

At Clearflow, we take great pride in our partnerships and the innovative water solutions they yield like the recent surface water treatment success stories from our UK partners, and distributors of Clearflow products, Frog Environmental . A testament to the power of teamwork in addressing environmental challenges. Together, a surface water treatment system was crafted that’s not only effective but also efficient and low-maintenance.

Early in the project, silt pollution was identified as the risk - a common challenge in construction sites. By leveraging gravity-based systems, rain-ready solutions were created and capable of operating around the clock with minimal supervision and without the frequent refueling of pumps. This proactive approach has paid off handsomely.

Incoming data from construction sites in the UK underscores the success of this surface water treatment system. Frog Environmental’s silt control systems with Clearflow products are demonstrating remarkable effectiveness in removing a broad spectrum of pollutants from the water including phosphorus, and metals . These results not only highlight the efficiency of our solutions but also reinforce our commitment to advancing water quality and environmental sustainability.

In the UK, the team has been making strides with the Environment Agency’s Lowdham Flood Alleviation Scheme . Despite an early setback due to washout, the project is progressing smoothly. The installation of the bentonite slurry cutoff trench is complete, and construction of the hydraulic control structure - a box culvert with a simple orifice plate - is well underway. Once finished, this project will include a large raised flood balancing reservoir designed to protect 191 homes in Lowdham from frequent flooding.

The site’s construction team is utilizing 3D models to guide earthworks and sample logging, ensuring optimal results. The temporary diversion channel now provides a clear transect through the basin, facilitating effective monitoring and testing. A trial embankment section will soon be built to refine material selection and compaction techniques, showcasing our innovative water solutions.

Moreover, the scheme promises to enhance wildlife habitats significantly, with exciting plans for Stage 0 beck restoration through the reservoir basin. One notable feature of the site’s surface runoff treatment train is the settlement lagoon followed by a shallow cascade with coir substrate. This design, attributed to Frog Environmental UK & Europe, effectively traps and filters fine sediment before the water re-enters Cocker Beck - a brilliant example of integrating functionality with environmental stewardship.

Our UK partners, Frog Environmental, are celebrating a major achievement with Clearflow products. The recent success highlights the strength of our long-standing partnership and the value of our solutions in boosting productivity and ensuring environmental compliance.

As we reflect on these successes, we remain committed to fostering innovation and collaboration in water treatment and environmental management. Together, we’re making strides toward a cleaner, more sustainable future.
