The Challenge

Absorbent polymers are designed to hold up to about 400 times their weight in liquid. Once saturated they need more absorbent, and because they do not adhere to solids they only hold moisture in stasis-often leading to liquefaction during transportation. Haul and tip fees rise because clients move both solids and retained water, and some dump sites reject material for moisture content.

The Solution

Clearflow Ultrabind polymers use water as an activation method to bond polymer to solid particles, not to soak up water molecules. Ultrabind typically holds up to about 5 times its weight in liquid-far less than absorbent polymers-while creating a closely bound matrix with up to about 33% porosity that forces excess moisture out, similar to squeezing a sponge.

Results

Very little polymer is required per cubic metre (typically less than 1 kg), so mass barely increases versus peat, wood chips, straw, or other absorbents. Released water means lower haul and tip fees, reduced liquefaction risk in transit, and better dump-site acceptance. Ultrabind needs a bit more mixing and a slightly longer reaction time because the goal is attaching to solids, not absorbing water. Historical comparisons are examples, not guarantees.
