Location: Summerwood residential development

The Challenge

Stormwater runoff carried high levels of fine sediment into the SWMF pond. Large cleared areas lacked vegetation, leaving soils exposed during early construction. A nearby creek added additional sediment loads, raising turbidity and impacting downstream water quality.

The Solution

Clearflow combined standard erosion controls with Gel Flocculant technology matched to the site’s soil and water conditions. Gel Flocculant blocks were installed in key creek flow areas and mains leading to the pond, flocculating particles to achieve clearer water without power or dosing equipment.

Results

Turbidity dropped immediately, eliminating sediment plumes at creek and storm-drain inlets. Residual flocculant improved clarity across all four connected ponds, including those without Gel blocks. Visible improvements occurred within one week, with lab tests confirming sustained reductions in suspended solids. Performance remained consistent year-round, with faster settling at warmer temperatures.

Outcome:

Improved stormwater system performance accelerated pond maturation and function, reduced sediment transport downstream, and supported long-term water quality throughout the residential development. Historical results are examples, not guarantees.
